  • App frequently crashes

Although the app makes a good impression at first glance, it is particularly disappointing due to frequent crashes. These usually occur after resuming the app from the background. Testing was conducted on an iPhone 16, C-Map version 4.6.1. In addition, the icon (as well as the navigation bar, if active) for your current position often does not appear. Hiding and resuming the app helps—provided the app doesn’t crash in the process. The units for distance and depth can only be set together to either metric or imperial; however, it is standard practice to display distances in NM and depths in meters. Regardless, route lengths are always displayed in NM. The bottom menu bar takes up too much space and cannot be completely hidden. The message “Poor GPS signal” appears repeatedly and must be acknowledged. Although the “North-Up” button orients the map toward the north when clicked, it continues to display the previous orientation until the map is moved again. The toggle to disable map rotation only works if you switch a map layer on and off in the corresponding menu. While sailing in Croatia, it was noticeable that the names of many islands are not displayed. However, the names of the ports are displayed. Currently the App is for me unusable.

I had some patience for few months but it’s keeps crashing again and again and again it’s becoming painful and makes app useless, I wish I could get full refund and find alternatives.
  • Gute App aber mit GPS Problemen.

Eigentlich gute App. Sehr schade!

charts are good, the only-one-subscription-model for worldwide waters is super fair and perfect for sailors that are in different places a lot of time. ... BUT: not being able to set depth to meters while distance is set to nautical miles is a terrible flaw. also on ipad offline charts dont download correctly, they are offset in regard to the selection square. on iphone it works. nogo for people who use ipad for passage planning.

Unfortunatly, I did not unsubscribe the trial immediately, so now I got locked in paying one year… for exactly NOTHING, as screen stays blank and white… on any of my devices… no alternative to nothing….
